DIY flowergirl flowers

I have decided to make flowers to decorate the flowergirl dresses that mum sewed.

After trawling through the web for fabric flower patterns, the ever perfect Martha Stewart delivered the goods and served as my inspiration for the flowers.

I began with fabric from the dresses and then added some black tulle for contrast and light pink tulle for texture.

After cutting out the petals I folded the flowers over into half and then half again. I secured this 'bundle' with a couple of stitches.

Then I lightly arranged the individual petals to give the flower fullness.

Now I'll attached them to the dresses.

So easy!
