More than Meet the Eye

They stole my idea...I never told anyone of this idea (but that's besides the point.)
Behold, the Transformers USB drive. I thought it was a Voltron thing (way better IMO)
Apparently this is some Transformer called Ravage.
Available at a steep price of $42USD at Big Bad Toy Store

loving pochee magazine.  i bought an issue in japan (constant source of inspiration it seems) and have been slaving away working out patterns and sewing (quite badly but sewing!).

succulents anyone?

What an amazingly original wedding bouquet featured in once wed.  I would love to see something equivalent done with native Australian flowers and desert blooms.

How cute are the cacti?

Who Framed...?

What is it about heaps of frames that works so well?
I think it's like graphic designer use of grids and columns. You either get it reallyyyy right or it ends up looking a little crazy and ad-hoc.

rough cut chalk

These are to match Charli's find of those sweet crayon rings!
Chalk pendant necklaces.  I think that things could get a bit messy wearing them though the idea is very novel indeed.  Courtesy of Design*Sponge.

Japanese fabric

Was wandering the shopping arcades and malls of Kyoto just 4 or so weeks ago (like a dream I tell ya...) and bought lovely soft printed fabric. TGFN (Thank God For the interNet), you can buy the same thing online! Would this colour make a great tunic dress?

small but powerful

Another awesome house-find from the team at cool hunter. I love how this little Japanese home uses it's clean lines and minimalist interior to give the impression of much more space than 45 square meters! A design feat indeed. The Japanese are design legends.

And look! Is that a Pepsi dispensing machine in the kitchen? One couldn't get much cooler than that.

Button earrings

Ok - I might give my hairpin craze a break and turn to earrings. I have so many little buttons at home. Not really suitable for bags so been thinking about using buttons to create earrings. What you think? Here's some inspiration from edithandlulu.

Alberto Seveso

Check out Italian illustrator and graphic designer Alberto Seveso's work. It's like looking inside the human body into this beautiful world. He's even done work with Michael Phelp's for ESPN's magazine cover.

Take Me Tyre

Ever wonder what happens to old tires? Well...I never did until I found these amazingly stylish Japanese bags developed by the brand SEAL. They reuse tubes from abolished truck tires.

Alain de Botton's new book

I'm so excited to read about... work?? Just released, this book might change my life just like Essays in Love and the Art of Travel. I won't deny it - his writing is a popular bandwagon and I'm right in the middle of the haystack. De Botton might be a rich-guy's son and not know much about work, but he's a talented essayist and such a keen observer of people. Big fan.

why 'wood'n't you? (bad pun sorry)

i'm the sort of person who drives past a street on hard rubbish day and gets excited at the site of beautiful tree branches or logs of wooden being discarded after a big garden clean up.  yippee!

most often the larger wooden logs are just too big to take home but i envision using them for wonderful projects around the home or as stools to sit on.

here are a couple of smaller and certainly more feasible projects that i shall try when i find my next collection of wooden branches by the roadside.  so clever and beautiful.  Thanks to once wed and design sponge.
